Kelly Greens Golf & Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Fort Myers, Florida.
Kelly Greens is a private gated community providing an 18 hole championship golf course, professional golf shop and private restaurant.
Kelly Greens was founded in 1987 and golf course construction began in October the same year. The course was opened for one day on December 20, 1988, when golfing icon Sam Snead played the honorary first round. The course officially opened in 1989. The course was designed by Gordon G. Lewis.
A multi-million dollar renovation in 1999 was completed to ensure that all greens were built to USGA specifications.
In 2003, owners approved the purchase of the roads throughout the community from Lee County. This privatization effort culminated in the installation of entry gates and the initial operation of a gate monitoring system in November 2004.
Eight sets of tees modify the course length from 4455 to 7028 yards. This design adjusts the level of difficulty so the layout is enjoyable for men, women or novices yet challenging for the low handicap and professional golfer. This is a difficult course with narrow fairways lined with palm trees. Water hazards (mainly lakes) come into play on every hole.
The members of Kelly Greens also enjoy a variety of recreational and social amenities including tennis courts, swimming pool, center for activities and exercise facility.
